At Explore Ministries, we are built on 2 beliefs: |
||
|
1. |
Discipleship is not just for children. Discipleship is for everyone. Whether you start your relationship with the Lord when your 5 years old, 15 years old, 35 years old or 75 years old, everyone needs to be discipled through The 6 Stages of Spiritual Development. |

2. |
It is not the job of the pastor or teacher to disciple the people, but rather to train and equip God’s people to do the discipleship which is their work of service. (Ephesians 4:11-14) Discipling a young person, for example, is not the Sunday School teacher’s responsibility, it’s the responsibility of their parents. The church’s and the pastor’s job is to equip the parents. But when confronted with this truth, virtually every parent asked “How?” How do we disciple of children? What exactly are we supposed to do? The question of “How?” led to the identification of The 6 Components of Discipleship. |

While at one time we thought the objective of discipleship was to help the young believer make a personal commitment to growing and developing their relationship with the Lord, we have come to realize that that was only a milestone on the way to becoming independent and victorious in their Walk. The ultimate objective of discipleship is spiritual independence. Discipleship is one believer pouring themselves into a younger believer. Explore Ministries is called and dedicated to creating the tools and techniques to enable people of all ages to mentor and be mentored in their faith. So we invite you to join us on the journey as we explore our faith. Join our expedition by voicing your thoughts and concerns as we work toward developing a cultures of discipleship where young Believers can successfully and victoriously grow from a point of introduction to spiritual independence with the Lord. |
