Foundations of the Faith

The Book of Genesis

The Book of Genesis provides us the Foundations of the Faith.

For those who believe in Jesus of Nazareth as Messiah, our belief begins as the belief in the God who has introduced Himself as YHWH.  His chosen people are called the Hebrews, and the Faith He has dictated to us is today called Judaism.

YHWH's son and Messiah for His people is the man named Jesus (His mother would have called him Yeshua in Hebrew) of Nazareth.  He is the Messiah for the Jews - but Gentiles (n on-Jews) are welcome to acquire His salvation if they too will trust in His work of redemption and atonement on the Cross!!

The background and foundation for this wonderful Faith is found in the Book of Genesis!

The Book of Romans

The Letter to the Church of Rome provides us with an explanation of the Messianic Amendment - or Messianic "Upgrade".  In this book, Paul provides a brilliant legal argument uncovering what Jesus accomplished for us on the Cross.

While we had a great Faith called Judaism, it was actually missing the ultimate object of what God wanted to accomplish and provide for us.  While the Father's Grand Plan was actually laid out in the Torah - the Old Testament - it was hidden until the Father wanted it revealed.  Paul lays out the revealed Plan in this wonderful book.

The Book of Acts

The Book of Acts is our "bridge" ...

  • ... from living in a pre-Messiah faith understanding → living into the work of Messiah on the Cross
  • ... from the belief that salvation was for the Jew only → the knowledge that faith comes through grace by trusting for everyone!

It is also the "bridge" from a self-focused life concentrating on introspective growth → an others-focused life that is outward-looking.
