The last 2 Stages focus on discipleship ministry.
Stage 5 is for all disciplers - so for everyone since we are all called to make disciples of all peoples. Stage 6 is for those who feel a call to establish Discipleship Ministries and take the tools and techniques of discipleship to other places and peoples.
The Mentor Development stage is where the disciple becomes the disciple-maker, where the student becomes the teacher.
In Matt 28:18‑19, the Master is recorded as instructing us saying, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” Discipleship is not a nice to do. It is not a suggestion. It is our single commission. This 5th stage is where the young disciple is prepared to return the favor of having been brought up in the Lord by a faithful brother or sister by taking on a younger believer of their own and repeating the blessing of Discipleship.
All are called to disciple. Whether we are accomplished and polished or battered and bruised, the Lord has someone who needs exactly what we bring to the table. This stage is where we officially commission diligent, faithful students to become the disciple-makers they are destined to be.
And lastly, there are those who are elected by God to take discipleship to the next level. They are to craft a ministry around discipleship and disciple-making. This stage presents a few principles and recommendations regarding how to do that.
We are all called to disciple. Some of us are further called to help and train others in that pursuit. It is the intention of this 6th and final stage to pass along some skills and principles necessary to build up the Body of Christ in this art of Discipleship that has not been well-practiced for quite some time.
